Proteus Gowanus is thrilled to join Underwater New York in curating the final phase of Transport

Transport III with Underwater New York

Join us on June 12, at 6 pm, to celebrate the show’s opening.

Underwater New York is an online anthology of stories, art and music inspired by the objects and phenomena beneath the waters around NYC. Transport III will exhibit work inspired by these objects and their journeys through the waterways. On view will be artwork ranging from paintings to letterpress prints to stories in bottles, from artifacts to photographs to artist books to installations.

Description: Annie Hauck-Lawson, editor of “Gastropolis”, a portrait of New York life through food, will read excerpts from her chapter about a childhood journeying across the Brooklyn landscape in search of edibles. Also presenting will be Ian Cheney and Curt Ellis who will drive over in the Truck Farm, a veggie-mobile, and show a short video of the project.

Peter Reich will exhibit his design of an electric kayak and demonstrate how to build one from basic materials such as plywood.
